Getting a room ready for tear-out
Removal day moves fast if the room is clear and slowly if it is not. We handle standard furniture, but a few things genuinely need your hands on them the night before.

The one decision that changes the job is what is going down afterwards. New carpet means the tack strip stays and gets inspected. Hardwood, laminate, vinyl plank or tile means every strip and staple comes out, which is a different amount of work and a different price — so tell us up front rather than on the day.
How a removal day actually unfolds
Tear-out is one of the few trades where you can watch the whole job happen. This is the sequence, and roughly where the time goes.
Protect the route, then cut into strips
Drop cloths go down on the hard-floor path from the room to the front door first, because that route is about to take a lot of traffic. The carpet is then cut into manageable strips with a hook blade, rolled tight, and taped so it does not unravel on the way out — a full room in one piece is unliftable and takes the banister with it.
Pad, then fasteners
The underpad comes up next. On a wood sub-floor it lifts in sheets with hundreds of staples left behind; on a concrete slab it is often glued and comes up in fragments that have to be scraped. Then the fasteners: staples pulled, tack strip pried where it is coming out, nail holes and grit swept clear.
Load out and hand over
Everything is carried to the van and leaves with us. We sweep or vacuum the bare deck and walk it with you looking for anything the carpet was hiding — a soft panel, an old water mark, a squeak. That inspection is free and it is usually the most useful five minutes of the day.

Can you remove carpet without installing anything new?
Yes.
